ECO Window Systems Windows & Doors: The Tampa Owner’s Guide

ECO Window Systems windows and doors in Tampa homes typically cost between $4,500 and $15,000 for full replacement, while targeted parts repair or single-unit fixes usually run $400 to $2,500 depending on what failed. We stock many ECO-compatible parts on the truck and can often complete a single-window or door repair the same visit. Most Tampa homeowners discover the problem the same way: a window suddenly won’t lock, a sliding door grinds halfway across the track, or a corner of the frame starts catching water after a hard afternoon storm off the bay.

Bradford Remodeling Co Tampa is an independent service provider, not affiliated with ECO Window Systems. We work on their product lines because they’re common in Tampa homes built after the early 2000s, and because the parts are predictable enough to price honestly before we start.

Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

ECO Window Systems produces several extrusion series, but the ones we see most in Tampa are the ECO 4000 and ECO 6500 lines, plus a range of sliding glass doors built on their multi-chamber vinyl track. The part you need almost always depends on two things: the series number stamped on the frame, and the glazing unit thickness. ECO’s 6500 series uses a thicker sash wall than the 4000, so a balance or roller assembly from one will not seat properly in the other. That’s the compatibility gotcha that costs owners the most time.

If you can find the white label strip on the inside of the frame or on the door edge, it will carry a string of digits starting with the series number. Take a photo of that label and measure the visible glass area to the nearest eighth of an inch. With those two pieces, we can match an OEM part or a quality aftermarket equivalent the first time. ECO’s OEM hardware is solid, but for certain wear items like glides and weatherstripping, we stock aftermarket equivalents that meet or exceed the original spec and cost less than the branded replacement.

We also stock parts for other product lines we install regularly, including KraftMaid cabinetry components, Cambria and Silestone surface care products, and door hardware from our broader window and door inventory.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Windows & Doors Is Failing

  • Window won’t stay open or slams shut. The constant-force balance inside the side jamb has failed, usually from the spring losing tension after years of Tampa humidity working on the coil. The window still seals, but it’s dangerous to prop open with a stick, and the sash will eventually bind in the track.
  • Sliding glass door drags or hops off the rail. The roller assembly has worn flat or the bearing seized from grit. Tampa’s sandy soil gets into the lower track and grinds the wheels down until the door rides on the frame itself, which starts chewing the aluminum.
  • Condensation or haze between the glass panes. The insulated glass unit’s seal has failed, letting moisture in. Once the argon or krypton fill is gone, that unit loses most of its insulating value, and you can’t repair it, only replace the glass pack.
  • Frame corner pulls away from the wall inside. Water has gotten behind the flange over years of driven rain, and the substrate behind the frame is soft. The window may still operate, but the wall around it is failing. In Seminole Heights bungalows we work on, this is the most common hidden damage on original openings that got replacement windows 15 or 20 years ago.
  • Lock hardware is loose, stripped, or won’t throw. The keeper on the sash has drifted, or the screws have pulled through the vinyl. It’s a small part, but a window that doesn’t lock is a security issue, not just a nuisance.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A built-in window seat in a bay window

Here’s what we quote in Tampa for ECO Window Systems work:

  • Single window glass pack (seal failure): $400 – $800 installed
  • Single window full replacement (ECO 4000 or 6500 equivalent): $900 – $2,400 installed, depending on size and glazing
  • Sliding glass door roller assembly replacement: $250 – $500 including parts and labor
  • Full sliding door replacement: $3,000 – $7,500 installed
  • Whole-home window replacement (8 – 15 windows): $4,500 – $15,000

The range depends on the size of the unit, whether it’s single-hung or casement, whether the frame itself is sound or has water damage behind it, and what glass package you want. On a casement window with a crank mechanism that’s failed, the operator assembly is usually less expensive to replace than the entire sash, but only if the frame isn’t racked. We price the job once, in writing, with parts and labor separated on the line items. You’ll know exactly what you’re paying for before a single tool comes out. Every completed job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the part or the install fails within one year, we come back and correct it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

Some of this work is genuinely simple. Replacing a screen, cleaning a track, or swapping a lock keeper can be done with a screwdriver and patience. But the balance assemblies inside an ECO sash carry real tension, and the glazing units are heavy enough that a dropped sash will crack tile or crush a hand. If your window won’t stay up, do not try to pull the balance out yourself. The coil is under load, and it will unwind fast. If a glass pack has failed, replacing it requires removing the sash, disassembling the frame, and reseating a unit that weighs forty pounds or more, usually at height. That’s not a Saturday project.

What we’d rather see is a phone call. Tell us the symptom, send the photo of the label, and we’ll give you a number over the phone. Call (941) 655-9297 and you’ll get a real person, not a voicemail, any hour of the day.
