Boral Fence Installation: The Tampa Owner’s Guide

Boral fence installation in Tampa typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full post-and-panel system, with most single-section repairs or gate rebuilds landing between $800 and $2,500. We stock Boral-compatible post brackets, rails, and panel fasteners on our trucks, and most jobs are done in one or two visits once the material is on hand. You usually find out something’s wrong the hard way: a post shifts after a heavy rain, a panel cracks at the fastener line, or a gate starts dragging because the hinge side lost its bite.

Which Boral Models This Applies To

Boral’s composite fence line spans a few product families, but the parts that fail in Tampa are consistent across them. The post system uses a steel-reinforced composite post with a mounting bracket that accepts two rails per panel section. Panels come in tongue-and-groove composite boards, and the corner and end posts use a different bracket geometry than line posts. If you need a replacement part, flip the panel over and check the molded stamp on the bottom rail – it will show the profile code and, on most Boral panels made after 2015, the plant code. That stamp is the fastest way for us to match a panel without guesswork.

The OEM-versus-aftermarket call matters more on Boral than on wood fencing. Boral’s composite density is higher than generic composite boards, and the rail channel dimensions are specific to Boral’s bracket system. A generic bracket from a big-box store will be sloppy on the post, and a sloppy bracket is what causes the post-to-rail connection to work loose over time. On structural parts like posts and brackets, we spec OEM or a documented equivalent that matches the Boral channel width. On cosmetic boards and caps, a quality aftermarket composite board is fine as long as the profile and thickness match.

Signs Your Boral Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post lean after rain. Tampa’s sandy soil doesn’t hold a post the way clay does a few counties north. If a post kicks in after a heavy afternoon downpour, the concrete footing was either under-poured or the post wasn’t set deep enough. A leaning post eventually pulls the rails out of the bracket channel.
  • Panels rattling in the wind. Composite fencing is lighter than it looks, and if the rail-to-bracket fasteners weren’t driven square at install, the panel will chatter against the post. That chatter is the early warning sign before the rail drops out entirely.
  • Gate drag on the latch side. A Boral gate that drags at the corner is almost always a hinge-side post that’s loosened, not a hinge that’s bent. The composite post deforms less than the footing around it, which means the whole assembly rotates just enough to drop the gate by a quarter inch.
  • Cracking at the fastener line. Composite boards crack when the installer over-drove a screw without a pilot hole, or when the board was cut tight against the bracket with no expansion room. Florida’s heat cycle expands that board enough to split it at the screw line.
  • Ground-contact rot at the panel bottom. This one looks like decay but it’s actually a drainage problem. When the panel bottom sits in standing water because the grade wasn’t sloped at install, algae and moisture wick up the composite and the board softens. Composite doesn’t rot like wood, but it does fatigue when it sits wet.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Boral fence installation in Tampa falls in the $3,500 to $9,000 range, and the spread comes down to three things: linear footage, how many posts need new footings, and whether the old fence pulls out clean or fought the whole way. Most of what we quote in Tampa lands between $5,000 and $7,000 for a typical 150-foot backyard run with two gates.

Scope Tampa Price Range
Single post replacement, new concrete footing $350 – $600
Single panel swap (match existing profile) $250 – $450
Gate rebuild (posts, hinges, latch, frame) $900 – $2,200
Full Boral fence install (100 – 200 linear feet, two gates) $3,500 – $9,000

Every quote we write covers the parts, the labor, the haul-off of the old material, and the concrete. There’s no separate “disposal fee” that shows up on day two, and no upcharge if the old post breaks off at the ground line and takes an extra hour to dig out. Curtis Lane prices the job once. The number in the written quote is the number on the final invoice. That’s the Garrison Standard, and it’s been the rule since 2004.

What’s included beyond the parts and labor: the site is raked and cleared at close-out, the written guarantee is in your hand before we leave, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise says if the fence fails inside that first year, we come back and fix it at no charge. You’ll know exactly who’s on the job too – background-checked, uniformed technicians, no day-labor roulette.

DIY or Call Us?

You can inspect a failing Boral fence yourself without getting hurt. Walk the line and look for posts that have pulled away from the panel, brackets with visible gaps, and any panel bottom sitting in soil or water. Take a photo of the stamp on the bottom rail so you have the profile code handy when you call.

Where DIY goes wrong is the post reset. A Boral post carries real lateral load, and a homeowner-driven post with two bags of quick-set from the hardware store will be leaning again by August. The footing needs to be below the root zone, the concrete needs to cure before the panel goes back on, and the bracket needs to be torqued square. Get that wrong and you’ll be redoing it in a year, plus buying a new panel because the first one cracked at the rail. If the job involves pulling a post or rebuilding a gate, call us at (941) 655-9297. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s a repair we can do in one visit or a full re-install, and we’ll put the price in writing before anything gets dug.
